How We Began Our Work

Like many other spiritual organizations that started in the 1980's, the Share Foundation was the 1980 vision of a group of meditators who wanted to create a non-profit umbrella organization to support other metaphysical groups just getting started on their own positive projects. However, it wasn't until 1986 when the woman, later known as Virginia Essene, channeled a book from Christ Jesus called New Teachings for an Awakening Humanity, that the Share Foundation finally became an IRS 501c3 non-profit organization to support the book's publication. Under the foundation's auspices, Virginia created Spiritual Education Endeavors—shortened to S.E.E.—as the publishing company's name, and the New Teachings book was first issued just in time for Easter of 1986. Although Virginia had been a grief counselor, hospice co-founder, a meditator as part of an Edgar Cayce study group, and also as a student of A Course in Miracles, she was surprised that the book quickly became a best seller among English-speaking metaphysical people and was then translated into other languages.
